Turkey Cultural Week to celebrate Turkish heritage with music and visual arts

From September 12 to 15, Turkey’s Cultural Week will showcase a rich array of Turkish heritage, featuring unique musical performances and an exhibition that highlights the country’s historical and cultural treasures.

Art enthusiasts are invited to visit the exhibition Glimpses of Turkish Culture at the “Sotir Kolea” Center from September 12 to 15. The exhibition provides an in-depth exploration of Turkey’s cultural heritage, including ancient values, historical figures, and architectural marvels that have shaped the nation. Each piece is dedicated to Yunus Emre, a significant symbol of Anatolian culture.

On September 12 at the “Jordan Misja” Artistic High School in Tirana, and on September 13 at the “Aleksandër Mojsiu” Theater in Durrës, audiences will experience a performance of selected works by Ahmet Adnan Saygun and Ulvi Cemal Erkin, two pioneers in Turkish music composition. Performed by artists from the Istanbul State Opera and Ballet, these pieces – infused with folk melodies from across Anatolia – will showcase the rich, universal essence of Turkish folk music to the Albanian audience.
