Tourism in Albania up 5% in first half of 2025

Official data show some 4,761,648 foreign visitors entered Albania from January to June—a 5% increase over 4,547,896 in the same period of 2024. Prime Minister Edi Rama shared the figures on social media, calling them “proof of stabilized inbound flows and balanced management of our tourism offer.”

Why is this important: The rise reflects growing confidence in Albania as a holiday destination and supports local economies across regions. Consistent growth also signals readiness for further tourism investment in infrastructure and services.

Context: Kosovo nationals accounted for the largest share of arrivals, while Italians formed the second-largest group with 510,000 visitors. Significant increases also came from Germany, the UK, France, Switzerland and the USA. In June alone, 1,329,204 foreign tourists arrived, up 7% from 1,244,967 in June 2024.

Next steps: The Tourism Ministry plans to expand promotional campaigns in key European markets and upgrade transport links to coastal and mountain destinations. Officials say targeted investments will ensure infrastructure keeps pace with rising visitor numbers.
