TKOBAP unveils November program celebrating Independence and Liberation

November, a month of national celebration in Albania, arrives at the National Theatre of Opera, Ballet and Folk Ensemble (TKOBAP) with a rich calendar of 17 performances that blend classical tradition, folk heritage, and contemporary artistry.

The month opens with the ballet La Sylphide (3-5 November), one of the most poetic works of the classical repertoire, bringing to the stage themes of love, longing, and tragic beauty. The program continues on 6 November with an evening dedicated to the Romanian composer George Enescu, whose music will be performed in Tirana for the first time.

On 8 November, the Folk Ensemble presents the premiere Shqipëri o nëna ime (“Albania, My Mother”), a performance honoring the Albanian flag and national identity. A symphonic concert conducted by James Ross follows on 10 November, uniting orchestral sound and poetic expression.

A highlight of the month is the gala performance of world-renowned soprano Ermonela Jaho, who will appear with TKOBAP’s Symphony Orchestra in Gjakova on 15 November as part of the festival Ditët e Nëntorit (“November Days”).

On 17 November, the TKOBAP Choir collaborates with the Embassy of Croatia and International Cultural Weeks in a special concert.

A violin and piano recital by Ejona Nako and Ina Petrollari Laco takes place on 19 November, followed by Beethoven & Mozart, performed by the TKOBAP Symphony Orchestra on 21 November.

On 22 November, the choral concert Zëri i shpirtit tim (“The Voice of My Soul”), performed by the choir The White Voices and conducted by Dritan Lumshi, will be presented.

The poetic cycle Schwanengesang (“The Swan Song”) by Franz Schubert premieres on 25 November, offering an intimate musical reflection on life and eternity.

The internationally acclaimed Czech boys’ choir Boni Puer performs at TKOBAP on 26 November, and at the “Petro Marko” Theatre in Vlora on 27 November.

On 28 November, Flag Day, the Symphony Orchestra of Albanian Radio and Television (RTSH) and the TKOBAP Symphony Orchestra will join for a commemorative concert dedicated to the history of Albanian cinema.

The month concludes with the Folk Ensemble’s performances Na Bashkon Flamuri (“United by the Flag”) in Fier and Vlora (27-28 November), bringing the rhythms and spirit of Albanian tradition beyond the capital.
