Tirana Marathon 2024 kicks off with 5,000 runners

Tirana’s largest sporting event, the annual marathon, began this morning at 9:00 AM from Skanderbeg Square. The first participants launched the race in the “Marathon 42 km” category.

The marathon includes four main categories:

Traffic impact: The marathon is expected to run until 4:00 PM, during which time main roads within the city’s inner ring will be closed. Traffic will be diverted to alternative routes, with authorities advising drivers to plan accordingly.
