The exhibition is a collaborative effort by photographers from around the globe. It features not only striking visuals but also powerful and often shocking stories, dedicated to media and freedom of expression, making the event significant both artistically and informatively. The World Press Photo 2024 exhibition will showcase the stories that matter from the 67th annual competition. It highlights the best and most significant photojournalistic and documentary images from the past year.

Each year, the exhibition travels worldwide to bring these compelling narratives to audiences everywhere. The photos on display have been selected from over 61,000 entries submitted by 3,851 photojournalists from 130 countries, highlighting some of the most pressing issues faced by the world today.

Currently, the exhibition is also showing in Eindhoven, Tegucigalpa, Vienna, São Paulo, and a number of other cities.

The journey of World Press Photo began in 1955 when a group of Dutch photographers organized an international competition to present their work to a global audience. For six decades, the World Press Photo Foundation has operated as an independent, non-profit organization based in Amsterdam. As the world has evolved, so have media and technology, transforming journalism and storytelling.

The mission of World Press Photo remains to connect the world with stories that matter.
