Police operation in northern Kosovo, weapons and explosives confiscated

Amidst ongoing tensions and security concerns in the region, a Serbian individual was arrested by the Kosovo Police in the village of Uglarë in Zubin Potok after the discovery and seizure of a large quantity of military-grade ammunition.

Why is this relevant

It comes 9 months after a deadly clash in Banjska where a group of Serb paramilitaries shot and killed a Kosovo policeman before suffering 3 deaths in further clashes and being forced to flee to Serbia.

This operation falls within the broader initiative to combat crime and eliminate lingering criminal elements stemming from Serbia.

There will be no tolerance for criminal activities or those who threaten the security of the nation and its citizens, stated Xhelal Sveçla, Minister of Internal Affairs of Kosovo, emphasizing the unwavering commitment to safeguarding national interests, ensuring the safety of the people, upholding the rule of law, and maintaining order throughout the Republic.
