The Albanian National Theatre of Opera and Ballet has unveiled its cultural calendar for September, promising a rich and diverse program that spans opera, folk music, international collaborations, and gala performances. The highlight of the month is the highly anticipated staging of Giuseppe Verdi’s La Traviata, scheduled for four nights on September 26, 27, 28, and 29. This production marks one of the most significant operatic events of the season.
The program begins on September 8 with a concert in the Albanian National Theatre of Opera and Ballet’s Concert Hall as part of Montenegro Cultural Week, under the International Cultural Weeks initiative.
On September 12, the Folk Ensemble will perform alongside Bylis Polifonia in the historic city of Bylis.
Celebrations continue on September 16 with the event “Peza in Festivity,” commemorating the anniversary of the Peza Conference, in collaboration with the Municipality of Tirana.
On September 17, world-renowned soprano Ermonela Jaho will return to the Albanian National Theatre of Opera and Ballet stage for a gala evening titled “When Feelings Find a Voice.” The event is expected to draw significant attention from both national and international audiences.
September 18 will feature two major performances: a vocal-instrumental concert in Vlorë titled “The Beautiful Miller’s Daughter”, featuring works by Franz Schubert, and a concert in Tirana at the Palace of Congresses as part of Saudi Arabia Cultural Week, showcasing the National Folk Song and Dance Ensemble.
Further events include “Sundays at the Opera”, an educational concert by the Albanian National Theatre of Opera and Ballet Choir on September 21, and a performance for China Cultural Week on September 24 at the Concert Hall of the University of Arts.
