Ministry announces new national agricultural investment scheme with 50% grant funding
In October, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development will introduce a new National Agricultural Investment Scheme aimed at supporting farmers with a focus on building protected greenhouses and investing in livestock. Minister Anila Denaj revealed that the scheme will cover new greenhouse constructions, livestock farms, and agricultural machinery. It will also address hail protection, a significant issue for some northern regions of Albania, leading to notable losses.
Under the new scheme, farmers will receive 50% of their investment as a grant. This initiative comes as part of the broader support package for the agricultural sector, which, according to Denaj, has been ensured through the state budget review in August. A total of 71,000 farmers applied for this year’s scheme, with funding now secured for agriculture, livestock, and fishing sectors.
