Massive Albanian crowds dominate the stadium in National Team Euro 24 opener
Dortmund will be painted red and black as 50,000 Albanians cheer on their national team against Italy in Euro 2024.
International sports media report that Albanian fans will form the largest traveling contingent of any team, apart from the host nation. Many Albanians living in Germany have secured tickets for their country’s first major tournament appearance since Euro 2016. In contrast, Italy, the reigning European champions, are expected to have fewer than 10,000 supporters due to the large number of tickets purchased by Albanian fans.
The Albanian national team players feel fully prepared for the challenge. They will face Luciano Spalletti’s Italy at 9:00 PM on Saturday evening at Signal Iduna Park in their opening match of the Euro 2024 final phase.
