ITB Berlin unveils Albania’s attractions, naming country official host for 2025
Images showcasing Albania’s attractions have been unveiled by ITB Berlin, the world’s largest tourism fair, setting the stage for the country to be honored as the guest of honor in 2025. The promotional campaign, launched with a focus on the picturesque Vjosa River—now part of Europe’s newly designated Wild River National Park—and the scenic southern coastline, aims to highlight Albania’s diverse and hospitable tourist offerings. This campaign will span across the full spectrum of the country’s offerings.
Albania’s Official Host Country designation for ITB Berlin 2025 was announced at the world’s largest tourism fair. The partnership agreement, signed between Albanian Tourism Minister Mirela Kumbaro and Dr. Mario Tobias, CEO of Messe Berlin, marks a significant step towards promoting Albania’s rich diversity to an international audience. The agreement aims to elevate Albania’s profile not only as a participant but also as an active organizer of major global events like ITB Berlin, enhancing its global reputation.
Albania’s rising popularity is underscored by recent tourism statistics. In 2023, 10.1 million international visitors were welcomed by Albania, marking it as one of the fastest-growing destinations globally and the leader in Europe, according to UNWTO. The positive trend continues into 2024, with a notable 50% increase in visitors compared to the previous year, solidifying Albania’s position as a top choice for travelers seeking enriching and authentic experiences.
