The annual Tirana Marathon returns this weekend for its eighth year, bringing extensive road closures and traffic deviations across the city.

Saturday, October 19 – Fun Run Marathon

  • Time: 09:00 to 11:00
  • Route: Starts at “Mother Teresa” Square and ends at the “Martyrs of the Nation” Boulevard near the “Cloud” installation.
  • Traffic restrictions:
    • Vehicle traffic will be suspended on the specified route, except for emergency and police vehicles.
  • Alternative routes:
    • Traffic will be redirected to “Lek Dukagjini,” “Ibrahim Rugova,” “Abdyl Frashëri,” and “Papa John Paul II” streets.
  • Mandatory directions at intersections:
    • At the intersection of “Abdyl Frashëri” and “Ibrahim Rugova,” vehicles must follow detours due to closure towards “Martyrs of the Nation” Boulevard.
    • Right turns are mandatory at “Bajram Curri” Boulevard and “Ibrahim Rugova” Street.
    • Similar detours apply at intersections with “Myslym Shyri,” “Ismail Qemali,” and “Papa John Paul II” streets.

Bush” Street, “Zogu I” Boulevard, “Ded Gjo Luli” Street, “Durrës” Street, “Kavaja” Street, “Myslym Shyri” Street, “Jean D’Arc” Boulevard, “Ibrahim Rugova,” and “Lek Dukagjini” streets.
  • Traffic restrictions:
    • Vehicle traffic will be restricted on all mentioned roads and intersections.
  • Alternative routes:
    • Use the Middle Ring Road, excluding the segment between the Tirana Court Bridge and “Elbasan” Street.
    • Accessible streets include “Luigj Gurakuqi,” “Dibra,” “Barrikadave,” “Mine Peza,” and parts of “Kavaja” Street from “Technological Bridge” to “21 Dhjetori.”
  • Mandatory directions at intersections:
    • At “Elbasan” Street and “Jean D’Arc” Boulevard, right and left turns are enforced.
    • At “Barrikadave” and “Dibra” streets, directions adjusted to avoid “Small Ring” leading to “Zogu I” Boulevard.
