Why is this important: The project, part of the EU4Culture program implemented by UNOPS in cooperation with the Ministry of Economy, Culture, and Innovation, aims to transform the museum into a key cultural tourism destination.

The current project, backed by the EU and the EBRD, marks the most ambitious upgrading project yet for the country’s railways and is expected to significantly reduce car traffic between Tirana, Durrës and Rinas which is positioned as a core public transport hub.

Why is this important: Fewer births mean fewer young people entering the workforce and a faster rise in the share of elderly citizens. Over time, that pressures schools, pensions and health services, and intensifies the need for policies that support families and improve childcare and housing.

Why is this important: Lower NPLs mean a healthier banking sector and stronger credit quality. A cleaner loan book reduces risk costs for banks and supports new lending to households and businesses.
