Dua Lipa makes Spotify history: 5 songs hit 2 billion streams each

Albanian artist with international fame, Dua Lipa, has set a record as the only female singer with five songs, each surpassing two billion streams on Spotify. The songs that have contributed to Dua’s success are hits: New Rules, Levitating, Don’t Start Now, One Kiss, and Cold Heart.

New Rules became a hit song in 2017 and is included in Dua Lipa’s eponymous debut studio album. Don’t Start Now, released in 2019 and written by Dua herself, leads the pack with over 2.5 billion streams. This song earned Dua nominations in three different categories at the Grammy Awards. Meanwhile, three other songs are collaboration singles: One Kiss, a collaboration with Calvin Harris, released in 2018; Levitating, a collaboration with DaBaby in 2020; and Cold Heart, a collaboration with Elton John in 2001.

The news was announced by her fans, catching the attention of Dua’s father, Dukagjin Lipa, who shared the post via Instagram Story. Later, Dua re-uploaded it on her page.
