Albanian Team, fans ready for life-or-death match against Croatia
The Albanian National Team will play its second Euro 2024 match today against Croatia at Hamburg’s Volksparkstadion. Both teams lost their first game, meaning they must win to stay in the tournament beyond the group stage.
Context
This is the second time Albania has qualified for the UEFA European Football Championship, and given the team’s excellent performance during the qualifying matches, fans have high hopes that they will reach the round of 16. However, a 2-1 loss against Italy means that winning against Croatia is crucial.
The team approaches the game in good spirits despite facing a tough opponent like Croatia, who is also fighting for survival after its loss against Spain.
Tens of thousands of Albanian fans have traveled to Hamburg to support their team, while in Albania, all activity is expected to stop at 15:00 hours when the game starts.
