e-Albania launches online ticketing for museums and heritage sites

Starting today, citizens and tourists alike can now purchase tickets online for Albania’s museums, castles, and archaeological parks through the e-Albania platform, making cultural heritage more accessible with just a few clicks.

Why is this important: This new digital service simplifies access to some of the country’s most visited cultural sites, reflecting a broader push toward modernizing public services and supporting the tourism sector—especially cultural tourism, which has seen strong growth.

How it works: Users can access the feature “Online Ticketing for Cultural Sites” via the e-Albania platform and are guided through four steps to buy their tickets. Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sports Blendi Gonxhja announced the service launch, highlighting its relevance at a time when cultural tourism is booming. According to official data, 1,431,726 visitors were registered at heritage sites from January to October 2025—a 16.48% increase compared to the same period in 2024.

Archaeological parks are leading the trend, with over 602,000 visitors, notably dominated by the Butrint National Park, which remains Albania’s top cultural attraction.

Museums came in second, drawing 421,661 visitors, while castles and other monuments were visited by 408,006 people during the 10-month period.

Looking ahead: Officials hope the new e-Albania ticketing system will not only streamline access but also boost domestic and international tourism by integrating cultural heritage into the digital economy.
