Kazakhstan Cultural Week debuts in Albania with music and cinema

Kazakhstan’s Cultural Week is being held in Albania for the first time, bringing a rich celebration of music, cinema, and cultural exchange. The week opened on October 19 with a grand outdoor concert at “Italia” Square in Tirana, featuring the renowned “Turan” Ensemble and the popular Kazakh singer Adam, performer of the global hit “Zhurek.”
The opening night offered a spectacular fusion of the authentic sounds of the Central Asian steppes and modern Kazakh rhythms. The “Turan” Ensemble, known internationally as ambassadors of Turkic culture, captivated the audience with dynamic performances on traditional instruments. The group has previously performed in over 120 cities worldwide, including Carnegie Hall in New York and the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C.
Sharing the stage, Adam, one of Kazakhstan’s most famous pop artists, energized the Tirana audience with his contemporary hits. His song “Zhurek” has amassed over three billion views across YouTube and TikTok, making him one of Central Asia’s most streamed performers. The concert was open to the public with free admission, creating a vibrant evening for art and culture enthusiasts across Tirana.
Following the musical opening, the program continues with Kazakh Cinema Days on October 20 and 21 at the “Agimi” Art Center in Tirana. Three films from the acclaimed Kazakhfilm studio are being screened, offering Albanian audiences a cinematic journey through Kazakhstan’s history, emotion, and artistic spirit. The screenings include “Myn Bala: Warriors of the Steppe” by Akan Satayev, an epic historical drama depicting the Kazakh people’s struggle for freedom and bravery; “Operation Nabat” by Rashid Suleimenov, a modern thriller filled with action and suspense; and “Amre” by Jeffrey Vespa, a biographical drama portraying the life and legacy of legendary Kazakh singer Amre Kashaubayev.
Supported by the Ministry of Tourism, Culture, and Sports, Kazakhstan Cultural Week in Albania presents a diverse artistic experience that marks a new chapter of cultural cooperation and friendship between the Albanian and Kazakh peoples.
