A taste of Hungary: Cultural Week brings gala, exhibitions, and concerts to Tirana

Tirana is currently hosting Hungarian Cultural Week from 29 September to 2 October, as part of the International Cultural Weeks program. The city has transformed into a vibrant stage for art, music, fashion, and gastronomy, where visitors can enjoy exhibitions, concerts, fashion shows, artisanal displays, and authentic Hungarian cuisine, offering a multifaceted glimpse into Hungary’s national identity and contemporary creativity, open to dialogue and cultural exchange.
The highlight of the week is the Grand Gala on 1 October, a one-night showcase of Hungarian creativity that unites fashion, cuisine, art, and music. Designer Adry Couture will present elegant collections inspired by tradition, while renowned chefs Béla Prohászka and Balázs Mucsi will serve authentic yet innovative Hungarian dishes. The evening will also feature the artistry of Dr. Kovács Istvánné Sztakó Éva, who will display traditional drawings, embroidery, and murals infused with folkloric motifs. Adding to the festive atmosphere, Flaska Banda, celebrated ambassadors of Hungarian folk music, will deliver energetic live performances blending traditional tunes with contemporary “dance house” rhythms. Attendance is limited to 100 guests, with registration available via [email protected].
The program concludes on 2 October with the exhibition “Aroma of Hungary”, a visual journey through Budapest’s architectural and urban heritage captured by Roland Tasho. The showcase highlights the dialogue between history and modernity in Hungary’s capital, accompanied by live music from Flaska Banda, creating a unique evening where art and sound come together to tell the story of Hungarian culture and identity.
