The 16th edition of the “Shkodra Jazz Festival” is energizing the cultural life of this historic northern Albanian city with a rich blend of international and local musical talent.

The “Shkodra Jazz Festival,” which runs from August 26 to August 30, features a diverse lineup of both Albanian and international artists. Among them is the ensemble Slowklang, known for their atmospheric and experimental jazz style. Ilaria Pilar Patassini and Alessandro D’Alessandro bring their cross-genre collaboration to the festival, merging lyrical expression with rich instrumental textures.

Also taking part is Amphitrio, a trio consisting of M. Kapidani, F. Piantoni, and R. Lombardi, offering a unique fusion of jazz with Mediterranean influences. Rounding out the program are performances by Gabriel Oscar Rosati and Kejdi Barbullushi, adding further depth and international flavor to the festival’s offerings.

Last night, the courtyard of the “Oso Kuka” Historical Museum came alive as music lovers and tourists gathered for a captivating concert by Italian singer, composer, and performer Ilaria Pilar Patassini. Known for her eclectic style that spans singer-songwriter music, chamber music, world music, jazz, and musical theatre, Patassini delivered a dynamic performance accompanied by renowned accordionist Alessandro D’Alessandro.

D’Alessandro, considered one of the most talented accordionists in Italy and across Europe, began playing the instrument at age nine in his hometown of Coreno Ausonio, southern Lazio. His musical approach embraces a broad spectrum of styles, making him a standout on international stages.
