U.S. keeps 10% tariff on Albanian exports amid global trade escalation

As the wave of U.S. tariffs took effect targeting over 90 countries Albania, appears to have remained largely unaffected.

Why is this important: While Serbia faces a 37% levy, North Macedonia 33%, and Bosnia-Herzegovina 35% for failing to meet reciprocal trade conditions, Albania’s exports to the U.S. continue to face the unchanged baseline tariff of 10%. Together with Kosovo and Montenegro, Albania ranks among the few Western Balkan partners enjoying stable rates.

Context: Under the executive order signed July 31, all goods exported from Albania to the United States remain at a 10% tariff rate. Trade between Albania and the U.S. reached $270 million in 2024, driven by exports of metal alloys, aluminum and medicinal plants, and imports of agricultural machinery, spare parts and food products.
