Record number of tourists visit Albania in first half of 2024
4.5 million foreign tourists visited Albania in the first six months of 2024, marking a 34% increase compared to the same period in 2023.
In a statement, the Minister of Tourism and Environment, Mirela Kumbaro, emphasized that Albania has entered the peak tourist season and that all state structures are involved in a concerted effort alongside private operators to guarantee a dignified season.
As part of this effort, the Ministry of Tourism and Environment is supporting 7 coastal municipalities through the National Coastal Agency with additional cleaning operators to manage urban waste during peak season months, while 34 health centers across the country are serving vacationers.
Meanwhile, the Border Police is operating a dedicated fleet inspecting all maritime tourism operators.
