Tourism in Albania grows 21.9% in March, expanding beyond summer season

Tourism in Albania continues to grow steadily even outside the traditional summer peak. INSTAT data shows that in March 2025, the number of visitors in accommodation facilities rose by 21.9% compared to March 2024.
Why is this important: This growth indicates a longer tourist season, stronger economic potential, and expanding interest in year-round travel across Albania — not just in summer or coastal areas.
Context: March recorded 294,082 overnight stays, up from 230,420 in January and 226,431 in February. Overnight stays overall increased by 30.8%, reflecting both a rise in arrivals and longer stays.
Non-coastal regions saw a 20.6% increase in foreign visitors, confirming the growing appeal of inland destinations and diversification of tourism offerings.
