Hashim Thaçi calls Rama after elections: “The Commander was in top form,” says the Prime Minister
One day after Albania’s parliamentary elections, Prime Minister and Socialist Party leader Edi Rama received a phone call from former Kosovo President Hashim Thaçi. Rama shared the news in a social media post, along with a photo taken during the conversation.
“My brother Hashim’s call was deeply moving and the Commander was in top form,” Rama wrote, referring to Thaçi by his wartime nickname from his time as a leader of the Kosovo Liberation Army.
Thaçi, currently in pretrial detention in The Hague on war crimes charges, made the call in the midst of what Rama described as a celebratory moment for the Socialist Party, which is leading nationally based on early vote counts.
