A hilarious tale of love, dowries, and family drama

The operetta follows the efforts of Nikollaq and Olimbia, who struggle to find a suitable husband for their 30-year-old daughter, Afroviti. Their search becomes more complicated by Olimbia’s non-negotiable demand: in addition to the dowry, the girl must also have a piano. Meanwhile, Nikollaq holds tight to the 1000 napolons he’s willing to offer.

Originally premiered on February 5, 1978, Karnavalet e Korçës was composed by Avni Mula with a libretto by Luigj Gurakuqi, directed by Fiqiri Kraja, and staged by the renowned Dhimitër Pecani. The production features sets and costumes designed by Ksenofon Dilo and Hysen Devolli.

This lively and beloved operetta, performed by some of TKOBAP’s finest artists, including Rozmari Jorganxhi, Xhovana Doko, Tatjana Kora, and others, promises to captivate audiences once again with its delightful mix of music, humor, and unforgettable characters.
