Altin Dumani voted most influential public figure of the year

In a survey conducted by JAVANEWS, Altin Dumani, the head of SPAK, was named the most influential figure in Albania’s political and institutional developments for 2024. The poll, conducted over the weekend, gathered responses from 1,234 adults across all 12 districts in the country, with a margin of error ranging from ±3% to ±0.1%.

Key findings: Altin Dumani emerged as the top choice, with a share twice as large as that of Prime Minister Edi Rama, who ranked second. Edi Rama secured the second spot, with a share twice as large as that of Sali Berisha, who came in third. Sali Berisha, the leader of the Democratic Party, rounded out the top three.

The survey reflects broad public recognition of Dumani’s significant impact on Albania’s political landscape, with an estimated one million adults identifying him as the most influential figure of the year. Prime Minister Rama followed with an estimated half a million supporters.

Survey methodology:

The poll was distributed via randomly sent SMS messages and weighted to reflect Albania’s adult population in terms of geography, demographics, and political affiliation. Respondents spanned all districts, ensuring a representative sample of the population.

This survey highlights Dumani’s growing influence, stemming largely from SPAK’s high-profile anti-corruption efforts, which have reshaped political accountability in the country.
