Albania expands digital public services: business registration now fully online
More than 95% of public services in Albania are already offered online, and the government is rapidly expanding digital solutions to streamline processes and improve accessibility. The latest development is the shift of all business registration services at the National Business Center (QKB) to the “e-Albania” portal, ending in-person counter services.
Why is this important: The decision reflects Albania’s commitment to digital transformation, improving efficiency and accessibility for citizens and businesses.
Key details: Applications, approvals, and notifications related to business registration will now be processed entirely online via the “e-Albania” platform. Businesses will receive QKB decisions electronically within one day of submitting their applications and citizens can search public business records online and access official extracts and documents electronically.
This shift supports Albania’s ambition to modernize its public administration and establish itself as a regional leader in e-governance.
