Three winning designs selected for new public administration buildings

Among the 10 architectural studios competing, three have been declared winners by an international jury in a contest to design four buildings that will house public administration institutions.

  • The best project for the Public Administration Building was awarded to the French studio Coldefy.
  • For the multifunctional development building, to be constructed near Zhan D’Ark Boulevard, the winning design was submitted by the Italian studio Andrea Caputo + So-IL.
  • The best project for the Cadastral Office and another building for property institutions was awarded to the Italian company Baukuh.

Why is this significant

The competition comes as part of the Government’s broader strategy of improve public infrastructure and working conditions for the public administration.

Context

These buildings represent significant investments in public property. Currently, employees of these institutions work in either outdated buildings inherited from the communist era or in rented spaces. According to Prime Minister Edi Rama, the Government pays millions of euros in rent for these facilities. The aim of these projects is to provide public administration employees with dignified working conditions in modern, functional spaces.
