The Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Igli Hasani made the remarks in his address to the 10th edition of the Tirana Connectivity Forum (TCF24), organized by the Institute for Cooperation and Development under the auspices of the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs.

Minister Hasani highlighted the importance of integrating the mechanisms of the Berlin Process with the European Union’s policies, stressing the need for regional stability, prosperity, and accelerated EU integration for the Western Balkans amidst ongoing global challenges, such as the war in Ukraine.

During the forum, Minister Hasani emphasized that the shared geopolitical, economic, and social objectives of the region must be prioritized, and that the EU and the Western Balkans should explore faster paths to integration before full membership. The forum coincides with the 10th anniversary of the Berlin Process and is part of the official calendar of the Hungarian Presidency of the Council of the European Union. Minister Hasani also pointed to the importance of ongoing discussions on the EU’s Cohesion Policy and the new financial framework beyond 2027 as potential instruments to further the integration of the Western Balkans into the EU.
