14,000 Albanian language and culture books distributed to diaspora children
In a significant move to support the Albanian diaspora, the Albanian Ministry of Education and Sports has dispatched 14,000 copies of the book series Albanian Language and Albanian Culture to Albanian diplomatic missions.

These books aim to ensure that the new school year starts with updated materials for Albanian language classes abroad. or the first time, this year marks the introduction of Level II of the book series. This new level represents an important milestone in the series’ development.
Context
In a notable advancement, the Level II texts have been digitized and are now accessible on the Diaspora Publishing Center’s website. This new digital option provides teachers, parents, and children with various modules of texts to support Albanian language and culture education.
Minister of Education and Sports Ogerta Manastirliu emphasized the ministry’s dedication to supporting the Albanian language and culture among diaspora children. She highlighted that efforts have been maximized during the Year of the Albanian Language to equip Albanian language schools across numerous countries, including Italy, Greece, Germany, Turkey, Austria, Romania, Denmark, Slovenia, Israel, the United Kingdom, Belgium, Sweden, and Croatia.
Minister Manastirliu elaborated on the logistical aspects of the initiative, stating that the ministry has coordinated with embassies to address the needs of organizations involved in teaching Albanian language and culture. This includes managing the distribution of textbooks and supporting programs like the Teachers for Greece initiative. The distribution has been tailored to meet the specific needs presented by embassies in various countries, with a focus on nations where there is a strong Albanian language education presence, such as Greece, Italy, Germany, and the United Kingdom.
Looking ahead, the minister revealed that work is underway for Level III of the book series, in collaboration with Kosovo. This new level will be distributed to the diaspora as soon as it is ready.
