11th International Short Film Festival launches in Korça
The 11th edition of the International Short Film Festival, “Korça Film Fest 2024,” kicked off on September 17 at the Majestic Cinema in Korça and will run until September 21, supported for the seventh consecutive year by the Municipality of Korça.
This year’s festival features 45 films from 22 different countries competing in categories including national, international, student, and documentary shorts. A new addition to this year’s festival is the category for short documentary films. Festival director Gledis Bica stated that a rigorous selection process is in place for national films, though it remains challenging to feature a large number of Albanian films annually due to production limitations.
The event aims to bring together filmmakers from around the world to showcase their works, forge new connections, and develop future projects. Notably, five participating filmmakers hail from Albania, Kosovo, and North Macedonia.
The festival opened with a film from Palestine, reflecting on the current situation in the Middle East.
